No Pain, No Gain, No More?

woman-foot-painHeel-loving ladies know all too well the pain endured in the name of fashion. For some, the pain is immediate upon slipping their feet into a pair of heels. For others, the pain builds slowly and kicks on full blast around noon. Still others can wear their heels all day, and it’s only after they’ve run to the grocery store and picked up the kiddos from daycare that their feet start to ache.

No pain, no gain, right?

Well…what if we could simply prevent the pain with just a few sprays?

Still StandingIntroducing Still Standing®. This proprietary, patent-pending, herbal spray claims to cool down the hot, swollen, painful sensation caused when the foot slides forward into the shoe and weight is shifted onto the ball of the foot. Per the product site, arnica and aloe naturally combat inflammation and pain; menthol provides a cooling sensation; and the certified-organic ilex works naturally to intensify the effect. The formula also contains Vitamin E and tea tree oil.

Still Standing does not anesthetize or numb the foot (see product below), but “keeps your feet feeling as good as they did when your first put on your shoe and prevents that hot red, shoes-too-tight feeling that most women get after 40 minutes of standing in stilettos.”

Still Standing may be applied every 1.5 to 4 hours and can be applied up to 4 times in any 24 hour period. Still Standing is clear, stain-free and quick drying. It can be used on bare skin or through regular stockings. Still Standing comes in an eco-friendly, non-aerosol spray and is available for $14.99.

Another product claims to ‘erase’ the pain once it’s started.

Heel No PainIntroducing Heel No Pain/Style . This FDA-approved, foot-numbing spray claims to alleviate high heel aches. Created by Dr. Randal Haworth, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Heel No Pain is the only foot product to feature lidocaine HCI, a sterile aqueous product that contains a local anesthetic agent typically administered by dentists and doctors. Per the product site, the spray contains the strongest concentrations of the agent combined with other ingredients to enhance its effect to reduce pain. With just a few sprays, the solution works its way through the skin to numb the nerves that send pain signals to the brain.

The spray, which has a 70 percent success rate, lasts approximately 3 hours and can to be applied no more than four times in any 24 hour period. The formula takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to penetrate the skin and take effect. A 1 oz. bottle of the cucumber-scented spray is available for $14.95.

Please note: Mama’s Shoes does not endorse either of these products.

Happy ‘pain-free’ Shoeing!
